Rescue Runs Back-to-Back Fires

At 03:38 this morning, Rescue 34 with a crew of 5, responded on the working fire dispatch for the House Fire in the village of Baggaley, Unity Twp (39 District). The crew handled RIT duties throughout most of the incident, and then split and went interior for overhaul operations.

Halloween Party & Trick-or-Treat Patrol

Crabtree Volunteer Fire Department hosted the annual children's Halloween Party at the fire station, then crews hit the streets to patrol during the trick-or-treat hours. Thanks to all the kids and parents for coming out to the party and having a safe night of trick-or-treating.

Engine & Utility 34 responded at 08:19 on Halloween to a Grain Silo Fire at a local farm outside of Crabtree in Salem Twp (90 District). Engine 90 arrived to find light smoke showing from a grain silo recently filled with corn.

This morning at 05:15 Rescue 34 assisted on the Vehicle Accident, Route 22 prior to Route 982, Derry Twp (71 District). 1st arriving units found a passenger car with severe damage with 1 injured and a tractor trailer tanker rolled over on its side with 1 injured and product leaking.

UTFB Burn Day @ Indiana County Fire Academy

Today 5 Crabtree members attended the annual structural burn training day sponsored by the Unity Township Fire Bureau at the Indiana County Fire Academy. Crews from the twp departments spent the morning hours taking in several interior burn evolutions.

This morning at 0030 hours, Rescue 34 assisted at a residential fire in the Whitney section of Unity Twp (73 District). 1st arriving units found 2 vehicles on fire up against the residence, with a moderate smoke condition inside the house.

This afternoon at 12:36, Engines 77 & 34 responded to a Tractor Trailer Fire on Route 22 in New Alexandria (77 District). Engine 77 arrived to find a car-carrier with the rear brakes and tire on fire, and the truck operator keeping the fire knocked down with extinguishers.

Airport Drill

Thursday evening, Rescue 34 with a crew of 7, participated in the annual Disaster Drill at the Arnold Palmer Regional Airport. A simulated plane crash with fire, haz-mat and almost 200 victims was played out.
