At 0450 this morning, area fire crews were awakened for a Barn Fire on Pump Station Rd (131 District). Engine 34 went in with a crew of 5. 1st arriving Engine 77 reported a working fire, with the structure already to the ground.

Rescue 34, along with several other area emergency services, spent a part of Sunday evening out on Route 22 in Salem Twp, where several accidents occurred due to the icy road conditions. The Rescue crew asissted with vehicle stabilization, patient care, hazard control and scene lighting.

This afternoon during the rush hour, Crabtree crews handled multiple vehicle accidents and shut down several roadways due to the snow squals that moved through the area. Rescue 34 & Utility 34 spent a little over 2 hours out on 5 incidents in Unity, Salem & Derry Townships.

Icy Roads Keep Area Crews Busy with Accidents

Thanks to Mother Nature, area fire crews were kept busy thru the evening handling several crashes on the icy & snow-covered roads. Rescue 34 was sent out at 17:20 and handled multiple accidents on Donahue Road and Route 119.

This morning at 0620, the alarm went out for the Kitchen Fire on Luxor Rd, Unity Twp, bringing Engine, Rescue & Utility 34 to the scene. Asst 34 (Cecchini) arrived with a working fire on the top floor of a 2-story single family dwelling and established command.

Trench II Class

This past weekend Crabtree hosted the 16 hr PA State Certified Trench Rescue II Course. Personnel worked 2 full days on stabilizing intersecting trenches, soil and object removal, patient care and patient extrication from the trench utilizing a tripod & and a-frame ladder system.
