Friday, February 12, 2010...This evening Rescue 34, along with several other local rescue companies, ran a 5-Vehicle Accident on Route 22, east of the Westinghouse light in Derry Twp. 1st arriving units reported 5 vehicles with victims pinned in 2 vehicles.

2 Flown From Route 22 Accident

This evening Rescue 34 was dispatched to the intersection of Routes 22 & 981, New Alexandria for the Vehicle Accident with Entrapment. 1st arriving 77 units reported a head on collision with several serious injuries.

Afternoon Crash on Route 119, Salem Twp

This afternoon, Rescue 34 was alerted to Route 119, a mile north of Crabtree for the Vehicle Accident (90 District). Assistant 34 (Cecchini) arrived to find 2 vehicles with 1 into a pole, s-bound lane blocked and no injuries.

Small Basement Fire in Mannitto

The alarm went out at 10:28 for the residental basement fire in the Mannitto Plan, Loyalhanna Twp (77 District). The fire was quickly knocked down by Engine 77. Engine 34 arrived 2nd with a crew of 4, and assisted with overhaul of the fire area & ventilation of the upper floors.

This afternoon, Rescue 34 went out for the Vehicle Accident with reported entrapment on the Latrobe-Crabtree Rd, 1 1/2 miles from Crabtree. The Rescue arrived to find 1 vehicle into a pole, with the operator out & uninjured.

2nd Fire of The Year, This Time in the 1st Due

At 20:47 the alarm went out for the House Fire on McKlveen Rd, Unity Twp in our 1st due district. Chief 114 arrived 1st reporting smoke showing from a 1 story modular home. Chief 34 arrived next & had the command, followed by Engine & Rescue 34.

Fire in the Pine Garden Apartment Complex

This afternoon Engine 34 was special called to the Pine Garden Apartments on Route 981, Loyalhanna Twp for a fire on the 2nd floor. 1st arriving 77 units (New Alexandria) reporting a bedroom fire with heavy smoke conditions throughout the building.

In between the gifts, gatherings & meals, the Crabtree volunteers spent part of their Christmas morning & evening running incidents. The Engine ran a fire alarm & the Rescue took in a crash & a medical.

Winter Storm Hits The Area

The 1st winter storm of the season arrived this weekend, brining cold temps & 8 inches of snow to the greater Crabtree area. Station 34 was manned throughout the storm and only recieved 2 calls for service, both being minor vehicle accidents.

Tanker Truck Overturned on Route 22, Derry Twp

At 0623, just after returning from another incident, Crabtree crews were sent to Route 22 E at the Westinghouse Light for a Vehicle Accident involving a tanker truck, hauling an unknown liquid. Rescue 34 quickly went enroute with a crew of 4.

Wednesday, December 9, 2009...Windy conditions hit Western PA again today, causing damage throughout the area. Rescue 34 spent the afternoon handling calls for trees, wires & poles down. Fortunately they were all minor and did not result in any power outages.
