Friday, August 8, 2008...It has been our privilege to have had Ben Bennett from the City Of Phoenix Fire Department in Crabtree. Firefighter Bennett, who has relatives in the area, spent the past week training with us.

Saturday, August 2, 2008...At 1950 Rescue 34 was alerted for the Vehicle Accident on Route 22 in the area of Route 119. Units were in the area reporting nothing found. After a callback from 911, the location was changed to Route 22 in the area of Route 982.

Tuesday, July 29, 2008…Around 1920 this evening, Rescue 34 was alerted to assist Station 114 (Lloydsville) with an Animal Rescue. Rescue 34 with a crew of 6 arrived to find a 2 week old German Sheppard puppy that had fallen into a 4” PVC drain pipe that was approx.

Monday, July 28, 2008…Rescue 34 was dispatched at 1505 to assist Station 77 (New Alexandria) on a Vehicle Accident Rt. 981 @ Keystone Rd in the Boro. 1st arriving 77 units reported a passenger vehicle vs Tri-axle with minor injuries & the passenger vehicle possibly into a house.

Sunday, July 20, 2008…The Annual Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Festival was held from July 17-20. The traditional Sunday morning mass & procession through town was held beginning at 10AM. Crabtree fire personnel assisted with the organization, procession & standby.

Friday, July 11, 2008… The current EMT class in session at Mutual Aid EMS held the vehicle accident/patient extrication practical lesson at the Fire Station. The class was divided up into 3 groups where they practiced 3 different patient extrication/patient care scenarios.

Wednesday, July 9, 2008...At 2005 the dispatch went out for the Vehicle Accident With Injuries on Route 119 @ Cemetery Rd in front of DeLuca's Market, Crabtree. Engine & Rescue 34 quickly went enroute with a crew of 9 plus 3 ride-a-longs from Station 83 (Mutual).

Sunday, June 29, 2008... In between rain storms, the alarm went out for the Vehicle Accident with Injuries on Tucker Road, approx. 1 mile from Kemp Road, Salem Twp (90 District). Assistant 34 (Kerila) arrived 1st reporting 2 vehicles with 3 injuries.

At 1946 the 1st alarm assignment was dispatched for a fire inside the New Alexandria Car Wash on Route 22. Engine & Rescue 34 went enroute quickly with a combined crew of 10. Chief 77 (New Alex) arrived 1st reporting good fire from side A & the roof of a 6-bay car wash.

As thunderstorms moved through the region, area fire departments were dispatched at 19:41 to the Mt. View Inn (33 District) for a lightning strike with smoke coming from the tower. Chief 33 (Marguerite VFD) arrived on scene, confirmed the working fire & requested additional alarms.

At 2238 Engine 34 was dispatched for the Unknown Type Fire on Allied Lane, Derry Twp, in the 71 District (Bradenville). Thick black smoke could be seen for miles by the responding companies. Chief & Engine 77 (New Alexandria) arrived 1st to find approx.

The tones rang out at 2220 for Smoke Coming from a Structure at the intersection of Jefferson and Chestnut Sts in the 113 District (Latrobe). This is a group of older buildings connected together, that were home to several businesses & industry over the years.

Saturday, May 10, 2008…Crews were kept busy Friday evening and all day Saturday running various calls. In 24 hours, Station 34 ran 2 Vehicle Accidents, taking care of a total of 6 patients between the 2, and 4 flooded basement calls due to the heavy rains that moved through the area.

On Tuesday May 6 Crabtree and New Alex Fire Departments participated in a water movement and hose lay drill. The drill consisted of each department practicing laying into a fire scene and "dressing" or connecting the hoses to the fire hydrants.
