Engine 34 operated at a Mobile Home Fire this 4th of July evening in 71's District. 1st arriving crews found the home fully involved and utilized a defensive attack to knock down the flames while protecting 2 additional homes that were threatened by the fire.
Overnight, area fire crews were alerted to the City of Latrobe for an apartment fire. Engine 34 was assigned to staging with the remainder of the outside companies, while city crews extinguished the fire.
This evening Rescue 34 was alerted as one of the RIT Teams to the city of Greensburg for a House Fire on the northside of town. City crews had a quick knock on the small fire and released the Rescue crew upon arrival.
This morning, Rescue 34 assisted on a fire alarm activation, with a report of smoke coming from a church in 33's District of Unity Twp. Crews checked the building with negative results, finding a bad detector.
At 14:48 Station 34 and surrounding companies were alerted for a Structure Fire with Entrapment on the northside of town. Engine 34 arrived 1st due with fire showing from the front of 2 townhouses and extending into the attic area.
This afternoon, Utility 34 operated at 2 Brush Fires along Route 22, east of New Alexandria. Engine 34 also responded to assist with the water supply, but was not utilized. Units on the scenes: 77, 132, 34.
This evening at 18:00 Rescue 34 assisted city companies with fire in a 3-story multi-family dwelling on the north side of town. The rescue crew, along with Rescue 104, operated as the RIT companies throughout the incident.
Overnight crews were sent to a Vehicle Fire Endangering a House in the Salemville section of 90's District. Chief 77 arrived to find a full-size pickup truck burning, approx 5 ft from the garage of the residence.
This morning at 11:39 Engine & Utility 34 operated at a fire in a 10-unit apartment building on the northside of the city. Latrobe(113) units arrived to find fire on the 2nd floor in a middle of the group apartment, that was threatening to extend across the roof line & common attic.
At 21:36 Rescue 34 was alerted for the Vehicle Accident with the vehicle into a structure in the 114 District of Latrobe-Crabtree Road. Crews arrived to find an SUV into a garage with collapse and 1 occupant trapped inside the vehicle.
This evening at 18:23 Rescue 34 ran a medical assist for an outside fall injury. Engine 34 set up a landing zone at the ballfield, as the patient was flown to a Pittsburgh trauma center due to the severity of injuries.
Rescue 34 ran a couple weather-related crashes today, including this one on the Latrobe-Crabtree Road with 1 pinned. Crews from 114 & 34 stabilized the vehicle and extricated the uninjured occupant out thru the sunroof.
This morning at 07:49 Rescue 34 operated as the RIT company on a fire at the Hempfield Industrial Complex (23 District). Crews had fire in a paint booth that extended into the walls and up the exhaust system to the roof.
At 13:19 crews were alerted for the House Fire along Route 22 just east of New Alexandria, Derry Twp (71 District). Engine 77 arrived with a working fire in a 1-story block structure & put a line in service on the fire.
This afternoon at 17:33 Engine 34 operated on the Haz-Mat incident in 114's District, where a vehicle slid on the ice and ran over a gas meter, causing a leak. The Engine crew assisted with lighting and checking local residences for elevated readings with negative results.
